Hilarious the losers who think these are done in Photoshop. It always amazes me how loud ignorant people are while the rest just continue in ahead of their curve. iPhoneography is well-known. The apps are well-known. Twitter, Tumblr and Posterous are FULL of iPhone blogs. These idiots analyzing the pictures for back-lighting and vignettes and agreeing with each other. Fools.
  • That is a very good lesson to learn, the eye of the person makes the difference.
    very beautiful fotos.

As a designer I've always known that it's the human, not the computer that does the design work. The camera works in a similar fashion. The camera may take the picture, but the human composes the image and is the photographer. Love the photos. Thanks.
  • I took the one of the kids in the fountain - i used an app called SnapBox and used the Noir effect. Have had a couple others that have turned out pretty cool using this effect.
  • So there is a competition going on for those that reside in the USA. http://contest.adorama.com/

I think you can get a great photo out of anything. With the right filters, or software, or anything.
  • The dangling phone photograph is really very good.

It's apparent many of the comments here are amatuer photographers. These pics were taken by expert photographer with good vision and a strong command of the good number of color manipulation apps out there. Kudos!
  • I haven't taken any shots like this with my phone, but I took one of my kids that was so pitch-perfect with the color and framing that I got several 8x10 enlargements and gave them as Christmas presents to the grandparents. They couldn't believe the pic had been shot by a phone.
  • wow,i never thought that you could get such stunning photos using an iPhone.. thanks for posting!
  • these are some amazing shots! I just got my iPhone and am on the band wagon!
  • I took the 'Desert Road' photo. It was taken with an iPhone 3gs with the Best Camera App - just one filter in the app was used. You can get amazing results with this camera and a simple app.

Well, since in the post there is one of my iPhone photos (the yellow phone) plus one of my boyfriend's (the girl in the subway), I know for certain that neither of us have EVER used Photoshop in our photography, neither in those shots, nor in any other.

To the haters, I'd say cut the hate and/or the envy. If YOU had an iPhone and were taking photos with it you would know that there are apps that allow certain artistic looks either when you take the photo, or when you process any image previously taken. That's one of the greatest strengths of the iPhone, there is simply NO NEED of Photoshop to do cool stuff.

And while you troll posts like this one, there are iPhoneographers everywhere out there making money of and getting notoriety with this new wonderful art. So check who wins in the end.

Most of these shots would take exposure control - which is definitely NOT available through the iphone camera. The shot of the dog is not iphone, and neither is the girls backlit.

Pics are awesome but i've got this phone and I can tell you that there is more photoshop in these photographies than iPhone. It's simply impossible to take a picture against the light with the camera lent of the iPhone..
  • most of these are probably edited "in phone". You should go see some of the amazing pictures coming out of http://www.thebestcamera.com/ if you like this post

Composition + Technique with a sprinkle of Photoshop = Fantastic Shot! This is just a reminder that you don't need massive amounts of mega-pixels and $1k camera to take a good picture.

These are fantastic photographs , and I am sure any budding photographer would be proud to say that they had taken them. A nice collection and thanks for sharing them !

Wrong title is wrong ".. iphone + heavy Photoshop"
  • hurwi
totally agree, many of the pictures have lens vignetting. Not possible to do with an iphone.
  • Sion
Like I said before, you can TOTALLY do this with an iPhone using any of the apps. CameraBag has a style called HELGA that precisely imitates the old Holgas, and creates an overexposure of the center of the image plus a vignette effect.

People, seriously... before you accuse the work of others, inform yourselves a bit...

agree, you can see the colors have been messed with. the sky photo in the desert has an gruadual tint added
  • Awesome, such great composition.
