Thanks for your comment! I can just agree with you about great photos telling their own story.

And speaking about refresher course in the basics – it's just like with photos – need to change the angle sometimes. I mean, if you are experienced – try to do some simple things and opposite for beginners – it gives you a fresh eye, I think.

Nice list! I love stories like these. Even if you've been shooting a long time, sometimes it's good just to get a refresher course in the basics.

I wanted to discuss "Obviate." I agree that if your photo needs explaining, maybe one should rethink releasing it into the wild. On the other hand, a good story that compliments (not explains) a photo can sometimes enhance the experience of viewing the image. In those instances, I try not to spoon-feed.

Ultimately, though, the best photos tell their own story.
